Angelim Pedra hardwood flooring is defined by a clear rich red and deep brown vertical granulate. Behind this granulate dwells varies slightly, often appearing light mustard yellow or a warm tan. This Angelim Pedra hardwood-flooring product develops from the rainforest areas of Brazil, Guyana, and Surname. The Tree may grow to 100 to 125 ft in height with trunk diameter of 6 ft. Frequently to heights of 90 ft and diameters of 3 to 4 ft. Boles are clear to 60 ft and more.
Compared to several hardwoods, Angelim Pedra is especially conducive to easy installation, and they are more beautiful than its often pricier rivals.

General characteristics:
The Angelim Pedra product’s Heartwood is yellow while fresh and darkening on exposure to an orange-brown to brownish. The texture is coarse to very coarse; luster low to medium; grain is straight to strongly interlocked.
Working Properties:
Easy to moderately hard to work particularly with hand tools; accepts a minor blunting effect on vanguards. It’s fairly comfortable to glue with care and finish being satisfying. Predrill the pilots and coutersinks when using screws. Clear oil works best to break color and longevity.
Drying and Shrinkage:
This Angelim Pedra Wood is rated to dry without any trouble. It seasons at moderate to good rate with only slight checking and warp. Kiln schedule T3-Cl is suggested for 4/4 to 6/4 stock. Risks of distortion and checking are slight.
Durability:
This Angelim Pedra product is absolute durable as rated by area exposure trials. Heartwood is also rated moderately to good resistant to attack by decay, fungi and termites. The product is resistant to water.
