Installation Process
1 – Subfloor Preparation
Sweep subfloor clean. Prior to beginning genuine installation, provide suitable layout of flooring by administering shorts and long lengths every bit over the areas to be floored (planks had better be placed at right angles to floor joists) and set up the desired pattern by distributing the face widths. 2 – Setting YourWorking Lines

3 – First Row & Border
Here the following sequence:
A) From the beginning plank put in Step 1, choose the piece with the end tongue. Place it on the side groove and cut end to the walls, provide 3/4″ for expansion space.
B) Aim 7D or 8D cut steel type flooring nails into the aspect of the board every 12″ just about 1/2″-3/4″ from the edge nearest to the starting wall and within 2″ – 3″ from the ends and in the darker grain of the wood.
C) Edge nail board by driving as is type nails at a 45° angle through with the tongue of the board, spacing the nails every 10″- 12″ and within 2″ – 3″ from the lasts. 4 – Second Row
Start installation the 2nd row by repeating the edge nailing as represented in step 3. (Don’t face nails like the first row.)

5 – Laying the planks
Note: Floor should be installed from several cartons at the same time to insure good color and shade mixture. Be attentive to the desired sequence of widths and staggering the ends of boards at least 6″ in adjacent rows. Upon reaching the last row to be installed, the planks should be ripped to allow a 3/4 expansion space. The last rows must be fastened by face nailling approximately 1/2″ -3/4″ from the back edge of the board every 12″.
The same process of counter sinking the face nails and applying filler should be repeated. Replace baseboard moldings and other finished pieces as necessary.
Tools is the primary concern for Installer/proprietor hardwood floors. The following tools will be needed: Circular saw or table saw, nail punch, prybar, hammer, broom, chalkline, tape measure, and power nailer with mallet. We recommend use of a Powernail model 200 or 250 with 1-1/2″ cleats. This nailer has showed itself to be higher-ranking to any additional nailer in the marketplace. The use of any 3/4″ nailer with 1/2″ adapter plates is not recommended. In certain situations, 14 mm Logik flooring could be installed using a 100% urethane adhesive such as the Woody 600 available from Goodfellow.
Pre-Installation selective information
3/4″ Solid oak tree plunks are for with or in a higher place grade installation only. Don’t put in at a lower place grade. Flooring shouldn’t be presented till the bulding has been closed and cementum work, plastering over, painting and additional materials are totally dry. Concrete and plasterwork should be 60 to 90 days old.
Subfloors
“Don’t set up a solid wood floor over beaming heat.”
Subfloor had better be constructed of 1/2″ or thicker plyboard be placed on granulated external plies at quadrants to joists with 7D or larger nails.once installation at once over an old wood or strip floor, sand whatsoever high spots, renail old floor to eliminate screeches or loose planks, and set up new planks at right angles to old floor, overlayer old floor with 1/2″ plywood breached 1/8″ at borders and nailed with 7D or larger nails, every 6″ at edges and every 12″ in both directions and through the interior of each sheet of plywood. The moisture content of the wood or plywood subfloor should not exceed 14%.
Installer/proprietor Responsibility
Aesthetical hardwood floors is a product from nature and consequently, not perfect. Goodfellow floors are constructed in conformity on acceptable manufacture criteria which allow a fault tolerance not to surpass 5%. The faults possibly from a manufacturing or natural character. Before installation of whatsoever hardwood flooring product, the installer must check that the job-site environment and the sub surfaces affected, encounter or surpass all demands as conditioned in Goodfellow’s installation statements. Goodfellow inc. Rejects any responsibility for task failure consequent from or affiliated with sub surface or job-site environment lacks. The installer/proprietor of a Goodfellow floor has final review responsibility as to grade, construct and manufacturing plant finish.
He must apply sensible selectivity and hold out or cut out pieces with glaring defects, whatsoever the cause. Apply of soil, filler or putty stick since fault correction on installing had better be acceptable as normal operation. While Goodfellow flooring are set up, 5% must be expanded to the existent square footage required as adjustment for cutting waste and/or mismanufacture. Should an item-by-item piece be in question as to grade, manufacture or manufacturing plant finish, the installer shouldn’t apply the piece.
