Bamboo hardwood floors are a wonderful flooring option for numerous homeowners simply because of their durability and lengthy life. However, in order to prolong the life of your bamboo floor, you will need to care for it and maintain them looking fresh for maximum effect.
Bamboo hardwood floors are recognized for being very challenging and resilient. Things that would dent other hardwood floors won’t damage bamboo, especially strand woven bamboo, which is the hardest and most durable form of hardwood on the market.
However, it is essential not to take the durability for granted. For instance, wearing stiletto heels inside can be devastating to your bamboo floors, due to the fact of the way it concentrates all of your weight into two tiny points. In addition, do not forget that the finish on your bamboo floors is just as vulnerable as normal hardwood, so just like with any wood floors, you will need to maintain your furniture from scratching the bamboo. Small felt pads or rubber cups, offered at any hardware store and several stores where house décor is sold, are a great way to protect your floors. Even with those pads, though, you ought to stay away from sliding your furniture across the floor; to protect your floors as a lot as feasible, constantly get an individual to help you lift and carry it.
Just as with any kind of hardwood floor, bamboo is susceptible to acquiring scratched if you enable dirt to create up on its surface. When individuals walk on the dirty floor, their feet grind the dirt into the bamboo’s surface, rapidly wearing the finish away. For this reason, normal sweeping is possibly the number one most important thing to do in order to keep your floors clean and preserve their finish.
It is also helpful to mop your floors periodically. Even so, you must be careful not to get them too wet, as water can damage your floors if you aren’t careful. A mop that is lightly dampened ought to be fine with most finishes, but check with your flooring’s manufacturer to be certain. You can also use cleaning products specially made for hardwood floors on bamboo.
If you spill or make a mess, it is critical to often clean it up as soon as achievable. Wet spills especially can damage your floor if not taken care of right away. Sticky messes ought to also be removed appropriate away; this can be done comparatively rapidly and simply by freezing the mess by rubbing ice over it, and then scraping it off.
Finally, some precautions can be taken to protect your floors from the every day wear and tear of dirt. For instance, putting door mats down will assist to brush the dirt off of people’s shoes as they enter, or you could ask that they take their shoes off altogether. Accent rugs also do a very good job of protecting high traffic areas, as well as adding flair to your décor.
Just like regular hardwood, bamboo hardwood floors can be sanded down and refinished if the original finish ever becomes damaged. Even strand woven bamboo floors, which are made of strands of bamboo, woven together and compressed, can be refinished. This adds to the durability and lengthy life that bamboo floors offer, as they can quickly be given a second lease of life.
As you can see, even though bamboo hardwood floors supply a excellent value due to the fact of their durability, they also need similar care and precautions to other types of hardwood. Still, due to the fact they are so much harder and more durable than regular hardwood, many homeowners rightly see them as a excellent investment and a lovely update to their home.

By the way, the US is producing 3 times more wood fiber than being harvested, check the facts with the US Forest Service.
I see them capturing all of the process water from there steaming process and I am sure they are using CARB compliant glue in the pressing process too. I guess they have to dip their bamboo to kill all of the living organisms that live in the bamboo too. Look at all the safety controls they have in place. And we wonder why are jobs are being exported………..
does anybody know how 2 clean bamboo floors
Bamboo is a fast growing GRASS! Save the trees and use bamboo. It’s less expensive but also durable.
Bamboo creates a beautiful and hardwearing floor, and in terms of durability it outperforms most hardwood floors, including oak. It is more environmentally friendly than wood
Nice. I loved how all those strips were turned into a sheet of bamboo ply. I just wish those workers were wearing dust masks. I want to build something in bamboo now.
NICE JIG at 1:26…Bamboo to be bent like that had to have been treated somehow, possibly held in boiling or hot water for many hours.

Deauzie, please do not try to invest in the manufacturing of bamboo. It is a great product but the market is so flooded with high end and cheaply produced bamboo. It is not worth it at this point. If you can design a new style like the “woven strand” bamboo floor that was designed by a person from Australia, then you will have a product that will be lucrative.
Bamboo flooring is being promoted as being more environmentally friendly than hardwood. From this it looks quite energy, chemical and process intensive as opposed to wood which is mainly just sliced. Bamboo regenerates though and does so in 5 years which hardwood cannot. For the protection of hardwood forests and their dependant wildlife, bamboo might be a way forward – if there is one.
what is the minimum investment needed to set up a small factory ?
