This is what a migraine looks like from above. :(

I love the black and white version of this because the insane number of different textures really make the photo look chaotic. When I have a migraine, my head feels the same way. All I want to do is sleep but there are a million different images and colors and thoughts literally flashing in front of my eyes.

This was lit only by the overhead fan light.

Traditional wood flooring installation is a bit different than laminate which only looks like real lumber. There are pros and cons to both selections. Either of these design looks will compliment an array of decorating styles. The surface can be left bare or covered with area rugs. Timber or laminated products offer a great deal of variety and longevity. There are some positives and negatives about each product.

Laminate hardwood look-alike: Products made from laminate can look so much like timber that it’s hard to tell them apart. Upon close visual inspection and touch, a person can pick the products apart; but when first entering a room, it’s very hard to discern the two materials.

    - Positives of laminates:o Less expensive: For the budget minded, laminate products are less costly than true hardwood. It can start at prices of less than one dollar per square foot.

o An array of style and color choices: Planks and parquet styles come in a variety of stain shades. Light tones tend to make a room appear more spacious and airy while darker tones tend to appear more cozy and small.

o Easier to install: A simple snap together technique can make this material a literal snap to assemble. A circular saw to cut the product and measuring devices are the main tools to have on hand.

o No trees harmed: Since no trees had to be chopped down, this may be a “green” choice.- Negatives of laminated timber:

o Can’t refinish: Once this product wears out, it can’t be refinished like the actual timber floors.

o Won’t last as long: These products won’t last a hundred years like its counterpart.

o Some people are allergic: Some individuals may have an allergic reaction to the chemicals in laminated products. This is especially true since it covers a vast expanse.

Hardwood is a flooring product which can be considered an investment in a home. Cherry, oak, pine or bamboo can make a home appear rich and even increase its worth.

    - Positives of actual lumber:

o Lasts forever: With proper maintenance, this material can last eons.

o Classic choice: Hardwood floors are a classic and elegant choice that can last for many years and go with an array of interior design scheme.

o Can be refinished: Design and décor changes can be reflected in refinishing. A new tone can alter the appearance of the entire abode.

o Can be “green: choice: With recycled or reclaimed products, no trees have to be chopped down. Timber from old barns, warehouses and pickle vats can be pressed into planks for an eclectic and cool look. Good for the planet and good for your house.

    - Negatives of wood:

o More expensive: Real timber is most costly than artificial planks and parquet. It’s costlier but could be considered an investment in the house.

o More difficult to install: A professional installer should be hired to do this job unless the homeowner is a skilled carpenter. These gorgeous floors take expertise and skill for a competent installation.

Both laminate and wood floor installation can look great in a home. Weighing the pros and cons will lead a homeowner to the proper selection for his or her home.
